Lately we've been receiving more and more reports from people getting download errors: "430 - Post not on server". This usually means your news server has poor retention and/or poor completion rates. In our experience, one news service has consistently kept the longest retention (over 4400 days or just over 12 years) and has excellent completion rates. That news service is UsenetServer.
If you sign up through us we get a few bucks back as a referral so it's also a great way to continue supporting Newsbin as well.
To clarify last week's message, if you have an active Search subscription being managed by PayPal, it will remain active until its renewal date. You don't need to take any action until that time. When it is up for renewal, if you wish to continue, you'll need to sign up again from the Newsbin Control Panel and use a credit card for payment. If you do not wish to use a credit card, contact us and we'll provide another option.
Remember, you can access your account from within Newsbin by clicking the Help menu option and select "Search Control Panel".
Thank you for your understanding, we are still exploring other options to PayPal.
PayPal decided to cancel our account for some reason. We've been using them for almost 20 years now and nothing has changed so we are trying to get to the bottom of this.
If your Internet Search subscription is being managed by PayPal and is up for renewal, it will not renew. Until this is resolved, you'll need to switch over to using a credit card. To do this, you can access your account from within Newsbin by clicking the Help menu option and select "Search Control Panel".

We updated the SSL cert on our servers over the weekend and have discovered that some older versions of Newsbin can no longer be registered. Registration works fine for the latest production release which is 6.82. If you are having any registration issues, please upgrade. Upgrades are free for registered users.
