If you use Sonarr and/or Radarr with Newsbin, this version has better support for these automation tools now. This one will probably become the release candidate unless there are any critical issues found. It is very stable.
The list of changes and the download link for Beta 7 is available on the beta page.
Also, we have received reports from people running BitDefender that it is falsely detecting Newsbin as being ransomware. We have been in contact with BitDefender and are trying to get this resolved. In the mean time, the workaround is to go into the Ransomware Remediation pane from the Protection menu option and click Exceptions, then click "Add a new application" and navigate to the newsbin executable file in your program files folder, select it, and click Ok. Then you should be all set.
If you find any issues in Beta 7 or have any qeustions about the BitDefender issue, please contact us through the Technical Support Form
Sorry for the long lapse with no new MOTD messages. If you have been seeing the same message over and over at startup, it means your copy of Newsbin is not fully registered. Go under Options -> Regis
ter/Update Key and submit your key info, then restart Newsbin. After that, the MOTD should only show when there is new content.
We have been working on updates to our Usenet indexing function since many posting styles changed at the beginning of the year. We are hoping to be ready to offer access to the new database for testing soon
.
That said, we do have a beta release of Version 6.82 available for download. The changes since 6.81 include fixes to how Newsbin interacts with automation tools such as Sonarr and NZBHydra, and support for some new styles of obfuscated posts. The full list is available on the beta page as well as the download link.
As always, we are available through our Technical Support Form or the Newsbin Forms if you have questions or need help.
Wishing you all the best in the New Year!
